WCIU

WCIU Channel 26 the U, why do you hurt me so? Much to the dismay of Sox fans outside the Chicago viewing area, we do not get WCIU. After splitting the weekend series with Minnesota, it felt like we were finally turning the Titanic around winning 10 of their last 15. But then came the dreaded All-Star Break--LAA's Vladamir Guerrero won the two-hours-too-long-Barry-Bonds-Free Home Run Derby. I watched the AL dominated All-Star Game that started 45 minutes later than they said it would (my dad calls this fan abuse) and contained an NL error and an AL inside the park home run. Then I hit rock bottom yesterday, where like a junky needing a baseball fix, I even watched some of the Minor League All-Star Game just so I could see some baseball. It was OK though because as a went to bed last night I could see the light at the end of the tunnel.

The Sox have started the second half of the season. We have Buehrle safely tucked away for 4 more years, and the offense seems to be picking up steam. All signs point to a positive outcome tonight, but alas, I will never see the game thanks to the game being on WCIU. What I wouldn't give to hear Hawk say "He gone", or "You can put it on the boooooard YES!". I would even be happy to see that creepy guy on the Feldco commercials who doesn't blink. Don't get me wrong, Farmio and Chris Singleton call a good game on the radio, but it doesn't compare to the magic of TVland.
Luckily the game is on Comcast tomorrow. I don't think that I can make it another day!

well, roo, whether you can see the games or not, you can always go to bed and sleep soundly due to the fact that you are not a cubs fan. and for that we can be thankful. i am leaving for san diego tonight, going to a padres game on monday. it seems the touristy thing to do, and they serve beer, so why not.
