Random points

A little update on "Uptown Normal". While at work this week, I mentioned something about "downtown" Normal to one of my co-workers. Immediately, a lady standing at a teller window snapped, "Uptown Normal, come on! It's Uptown Normal." She was dead serious, and clearly peeved. Everyone needs to take it easy. It was not like I said, "Hey! I heard that you used to torture cats and then set fire to them." Nobody needs to freak out of about Uptown Normal!

Is it wrong that one week after finishing the final installment of the Harry Potter series, I still feel a nagging sadness? It's not all-consuming or paralyzing, but just a little sadness when I think of Harry and his world. The sadness may just be because I'm still trying to recover from my sleep deprivation from staying up until the wee hours of the morning last weekend to read the book! Totally worth it though.

However, I do find it interesting that a week after Potter-mania, there is not even a mention of it in the media anymore. As a society our attention span rivals that of a toddler!

Who would have thought that Rod Stewart would have a successful career revival singing American Standards? First of all, his voice wasn't one that I would have matched with that genre, second, he's British --don't they have their own standards?!

I'm not a fan of Potter, but when Grace saw the picture she wanted to know all about it. She thinks Aunt Renee is cool for reading it.
