Victory!

Yesterday, one of the other branches of my bank got robbed. It was not just a benign passing of a note and implying a weapon in their pocket. Two men went into the bank with guns waving and jumped over the counter. In robbery training, it's what they call a Takeover Robbery. Luckily everyone was safe, however this branch was closed for the rest of the day. That branch and my branch are the busiest in town and we're quite near each other. This meant that our traffic more than doubled. our branch barely could stay afloat. However, while I was running around like a lunatic and my boss was asking me all sorts of questions, I realized that this type of situation is what I thrive on. I love a near crisis because that's my chance to shine. But, here's how I knew that I did a good job stepping up - my boss invited me out for a beer with his sidekicks. I didn't go because I wanted to go home and hang out with the boys, but it was definitely a sign of his approval. Hooray!
