Harvest Days

This year for Harvest Days, we went up to Dwight on Saturday to celebrate Janet's birthday. After the party, we (Juli, Jane, Tim, and I) took all the kids to the Harvest Days festivities. This was the boys' first carnival experience.

We didn't know if Sammy would want to go on any rides, but the first ride that the boys went on was basically a merry-go-round with cars. After the boys rode it twice, we joined the rest of the cousins and enjoyed a few more rides. Benny and I went on the Ferris wheel. He really liked it. I white knuckled the whole ride. Below is a picture of the view from near the top. Tim is the one with the wagon. Benny kept yelling to him, but most of the time he couldn't hear us.

Before we left, the boys went back to their first ride and literally rode it 5 times in a row. We were really hoping that Sammy would tire of the ride so that after five times he wouldn't throw a fit when we took him off. Well- that didn't happen. Sammy freaked. The only thing that calmed him down was when the lady at the Baptist Academy booth offered him a Sierra Mist. He immediately flipped into his bashful mode.

All in all, Harvest Days was pretty enjoyable. I had a better time then the last time I went which was when Tim and I were first dating. He brought me downtown to the bar Turtles. We sat down at a table, he went up to the bar to order drinks, and then left me there for an extended period of time because he ran into people he knew and apparently forgot about me. Charming. I'm not bitter about it at all.

Love the picture of you and Benny from the Ferris Wheel. And I'm glad that this year's Harvest Days experience wasn't as traumatic as your first!
