Hopefully A Week Long Series On The Difference Between Our Sons

A lot of people tell Renee and I that our boys look a lot alike. That is pretty much where the similarities end. Of course one will be smarter than the other and one will be more athletic than the other. But they have a couple of quirks, well really Sammy has a couple, that keeps them as different as night and day.

Today's topic: shirt buttoning. The standard polo style shirt has either 2 or 3 buttons. If you haven't noticed, most everyone does not button the top button on these style of shirts. I bet you can't name one person that buttons a polo all the way up. If you have met Sammy then you do know that kind of person. I don't button all the way up. Benny doesn't button all the way up. None of our relatives and no one at day care buttons all the way up. Where did he learn this? We have no idea. Maybe he watched one to many Monk episodes with me. That would explain a lot of his behavior, but we will discuss more of that as the week goes on.

Help me out people. How can I talk him into not buttoning all the way up? I show him that I don't do it and Benny wouldn't even think about doing it. What am I supposed to do? I don't want him to get beat up when he starts going to public school.

Do not fear - I know of at least three school aged boys who insist on buttoning the top button and they have yet to be pounded on.

Also, Shortcake was wearing a buttoned pajama shirt tonight and also had every button done despite my trying to convince her that the top button was just for decorative purposes.

Can't wait to see the rest of the comparisons!

Have you asked him why he insists on buttoning it all the way up? Maybe he saw what you looked like in "Is My Taste Really That Bad?" and thought you were talking about the top button not being buttoned...not the shirt itself?

I can not believe you said one will be smarter than the other. No Kresl they will not. They will both be smart, but maybe succeed in different subjects. One will not be more athletic than the other, they will just be athletic in different sports. The Kresl's were all athletic, just more athletic in different sports. We were all smart, just in different subjects. Well, I guess my subject APE, but we were all smart. Who cares that he buttons his shirt up, maybe he wants to be different than anyone else!!!!!! He's the best, leave my nephew alone you mean daddy!

Luci likes to button all of her buttons on sweaters too. I don't know how to address that, but I'm glad you wrote this and wish I had read it before this morning when I buttoned all of Daniel's buttons on his 3 button polo....ooops.

Renee ABSOLUTELY used to button all of her polo shirts all the way up. I have pictoral evidence. It was a phase.
