Surely this is an early fall picture for '08. The pile is not that big and they are not wearing coats. Maybe September or early October? No. Actually this was taken two weekends ago. It seems we have started a tradition at this house to not get all the leaves raked before the first snow. I hope it happens to more people. Every fall, actually just the last four, it seems like we get the bulk of the leaves disposed of and then it rains. We use the excuse that the leaves are too wet to rake and then before we know it the first snowfall hits and it's too late. We try. We really do. There's just so many of them. And it's not even our fault. We don't even have a single tree in our back yard. We only have a single tree in our front yard. It's just not fair.

That's one of the piles from last fall. The kids had a great time running and jumping into it. We buried them and called out for them as if they were lost so they could jump up to yell and reassure us that they were in fact not lost. Jaden is the one in Pink. Her grandparents live next door and she used to come and stay every other weekend. Now she only comes once in a while. She probably picked the other weekend since she knew there would be leaves to jump in. This fall I think we should have her do all the raking. You see, her grandparent's tree is the main culprit of our back yard leaf problems. And we let her play on our swing set.
